However, we all know the benefits we can get from adding Aloe Vera to our diets, especially when in juice form.  But there are some Aloe Juice side effects that you should be aware of.  Like any type of supplement you take, you should always be aware of the pros and cons associated with them.  Additionally, you should make sure that you add any supplement to your diet while under the watchful eyes of your doctor.

So what are some of the Aloe Vera juice side effects you should be aware of?

Let start with Diarrhea

If you notice your urine turning reddish while taking aloe juice or you experience some pains, severe cramping and dehydration, watch it, it might be a sign of diarrhea. Some people are more prone to suffer from diarrhea than others when taking Aloe Vera juice, because Aloe contains a substance that acts like a laxative in the body. Therefore, you should always discontinue use if you suffer from this Aloe Vera juice side effect.

What's Electrolyte Imbalance?

Another one of Aloe juice side effects is an electrolyte imbalance. This usually goes hand in hand with the risk of diarrhea, but not always.  Typically, it comes with a drop in your potassium level that cause your heart to have irregular beats and sometimes make you feel very tired. If you're taking Aloe Vera juice and suddenly noticed these symptoms, discontinue use right away and contact your physician.

As with any other herbal supplement, Aloe Vera juice can interact with both non-prescription
and prescription medication ... and may inhibit or increase how some medications work. Check with your doctor or local pharmacist to see if you can take Aloe Vera juice with the medications you are on.  Also, it can interact with other herbal and diet supplements so make sure you read up on what Aloe Vera juice can be used with before using it.

Sometimes, its laxation effect may be considered as Aloe Vera juice side effect, because it contains aloin & emodin that are reputed to have a laxative property.

Can Aloe Vera Side Effects Aggravate Other Health Problems?

Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, colitis, hemorrhoids, appendicitis, stomach pain, ulcers and intestinal obstructions are all health problems that can be aggravated by taking Aloe Vera juice. To avoid this Aloe Vera juice side effects make sure you are not suffering from any of these conditions
before you start drinking it.

And, don't forget that, if you're allergic to Liliaceae family -- such as to garlic, onions, and tulips, then,
you may probably have a high degree of developing Aloe Vera juice side effects. Because Aloe belongs to that family.

Another point of note is that prolonged use of raw aloe gel on your skin may result to dermatitis, hives,
and even red eyelids. So, if you want it to perform its magic, then you have to be regimented about its raw application on your skin, that way, you give your skin the interval to soak of all its wonderful nutrients ... therefore, your best result is two weeks on, one week off.

Breastfeeding and Pregnancy Complications

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take Aloe Vera juice.  One of the Aloe juice side effects is contractions of the uterus and spontaneous miscarriages.  When breastfeeding, it can irritate the baby and cause it to vomit.  Aloe Vera juice should be avoided in all children under the age of 12 because of its laxative and purgative properties except those mixed with fruit juice.
