The study was conducted in over 2400 counties in China, and when Dr Campbell compared his statistical results with that of the United States, it showed that the prevalence of cancer was higher in the US than in China.

Because, the diet in China was less in animal fat and protein, and very high in fiber. In other words, the Chinese diet was predominantly plant-based foods...
 
Another report in the October 1996 issue of the Journal of American Dietetic Association, looked at the relationship between vegetables and fruits consumption and the risk of cancer in 206 human studies and 22 animal studies. It concluded that people and animal that were placed on vegetables and fruits consumption had lower risks of various types of cancer.

It shows that your nutrition in cancer treatment must contain much of vegetables and fruits.

Examples of some of these cancer-fighting foods include:

  1. Fruits and vegetables are top of the anti-cancer foods. These are good sources of vitamins A, C,E, selenium and ß-carotene. ß-carotene as the vitamin A precursor, in the existence of other synergistic vitamins such as vitamins C and E, is able to reduce cancer risk.

    Those vitamins are found in large amounts in carrots, broccoli, sweet potatoes, cantaloupe melons and apricots. Blueberry contains a strong antioxidant -- anthocyanin pigment (VMA) has been approved as an ideal anti-cancer fruit.

  2. Garlic, used liberally, may keep cancer away. A National Cancer Institute (NCI) study carried out in China in 1989 discovered that provinces where garlic was used liberally in their cooking had the lowest rate of stomach cancer. Garlic contains sulphur compounds that help deal with toxins and free radicals.

  3. Soya beans have been associated with a lower risk of breast cancer. In Japan and China, women who get most of their protein from soya beans foods-tofu, soya beans themselves and soyamilk-have lower rates of breast cancer.

  4. The bacterium lactobacillus acidophilus, found in many live yoghurts, slows down the development of colon tumors.

  5. Sesame and sunflower seeds are rich in selenium, vitamin E, calcium and zinc. Deep sea fish oil provides the best source of omega-3 fatty acids which fight inflammation and support brain and heart health.

  6. Increase fiber intake. Fiber plays a key role in keeping your digestive system clean and healthy. It helps keep food moving through your digestive tract and it also moves cancer causing compounds out before they can create harm. Fiber is found in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

  7. And some traditional Chinese herbs such as Ganoderma, Ginseng and Cordyceps are immune boosters that strengthen the body’s nonspecific immunity as well as restrict the growth of cancer.

So, Why Plant-Based Nutrition In Cancer Treatment?

Recent researches have proved that foods rich in plants are cancer fighting powerhouse... and such facts are not far for the following reasons:

    Plant based foods are high in antioxidants that help to protect you from cancer... This is because consumption of fruits and vegetables contain a wide variety of antioxidants that help to halt the menace of free radicals generated from oxidative stress conditions.
